viking volleyball has successful start

The Viking Volleyball team has had a great start to the season.  With four games under their belt, the Vikings only loss so far is to Cambridge.

On Tuesday, the Vikings took on a very solid C-2 Elm Creek squad.  The Vikings were able to defeat the Buffaloes in three straight sets 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.

On Thursday, the Vikings hosted a triangular with Cambridge and Alma.  In the first game with Cambridge, Bertrand was able to off-set the size of the Trojan block with aggressive serving. However, in sets two and three, unforced errors in serving and attacking allowed Cambridge to set up offensively.  Cambridge went on to win the match 25-18, 14-25, 13-25.

In the last match of the evening, the Vikings took on Alma.  In this game, the Vikings were able to get back on track with fewer errors, and were able to defeat the Cardinals 25-20 and 25-22.

The Vikings will host Amherst tonight with the JV team playing at 5:30 and the Varsity following at 6:30.
