Lady Vikings Celebrate the point

Lady Vikings Win Opener

The Vikings started their season with a three set sweep in their season opener against a very young and scrappy Southwest High School team.  Although the Vikings missed a number of serves, aggressive serving allowed the Vikings to come up with 10 aces in the game and kept the Rough Riders out of system.  For the Vikings, Jada High led the team in ace serves with 4 followed by Jordan Hilmer with 2. Also posting aces were Erin Boggs, Johanna Ford, Macie Steinbrink and Jennica Dannehl.

The defense also stepped up as the Vikings posted 59 digs and 12 blocks.  Jada High led all diggers with 12 while Jennica Dannehl added 9. Johanna Ford posted 4 total blocks while Aleya Hueftle contributed 3.

Offensively, Erin Boggs was able to deliver 24 assists including 8 to Ford, 6 to Hilmer, and 5 to Hueftle. Boggs was also able to deliver 3 of her own kills.

The Vikings will take on Elm Creek tonight at home with the JV’s playing at 5:30 and the Varsity following at 6:30.
