2019 New West All-Star Classic

The top volleyball and basketball athletes of Central Nebraska will be playing on Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14. The athletes from the RPAC, Fort Kearney, Lou Platte, and Southwest conferences will compete to raise money for the Nebraska Kidney Association. For the Vikings, Lindsay Schutz will compete in both the volleyball and girls basketball games, and Tyler Callahan will play in the boys basketball competition.

The All-Star Classic will begin on Thursday, June 13 at 5:00 pm when volleyball all-stars from the RPAC will take on the top athletes of the Fort Kearney Conference at Minden’s C.L. Jones Middle School, and the best of the Southwest Conference will take on the Lou Platte Conference stars at the Minden High School gym in the best of five set series. Championship and consolation games will follow the conclusion of the first round games with a best of three format.

On Friday, June 14, girls and boys basketball all-stars will be featured when the RPAC vs Fort Kearney and Southwest vs Lou Platte conferences compete. Tip off for the girls will be at 5:00 in the C.L. Jones and Minden High gymnasiums. Warm-up for the the boys games will follow immediately at the conclusion of the girls games.

Doors will open to the public at 4:00 pm both nights.

RPAC Basketball Teams Announced

Five Vikings were named to the RPAC All-Conference Basketball Teams by the conference coaches for the 2018-2019 season.

For the girls, Grace Schwarz earned first team All-RPAC East honors, while Erin Boggs and Lindsay Schutz were listed as honorable mention.

For the boys, Tyler Callahan earned second team All-RPAC East honors along with Austin Long who earned honorable mention honors.

Congratulations to all for their accomplishments on the season.

District Basketball Seedings Set

The 2017-2018 boys basketball seedings have been released and the D-1  11 sub-district shook out with Bertrand earning the fourth seed.  They will play 5th seeded Hitchcock County on Monday night in Cambridge at 6:30 pm on Monday, February 19. The winner will advance to take on top seeded Arapahoe on Tuesday evening at 6:00. The finals are scheduled for Thursday night, February 22 at 7:00 pm.
