ART 7

This course is nine weeks long.  The course curriculum will include an in depth study of the elements of art and the principles of design.  Students will do contour drawing, value study, a mixed media project, watercolor, and a clay project.

ART 8
This course is nine weeks long.  It begins with a recap of the elements and principles of art.  Students will then learn about cropping a composition.  The class will have to interpret the effect of light on a variety of objects by drawing a still life.  They will be introduced to India ink as a medium to use on a self portrait.  The students will finish the course designing a clay sculpture.

ART I
This course is nine weeks long.  Students will be introduced to a variety of new media.  The class spends time going over drawing fundamentals and then are introduced to acrylic painting techniques.  Each student will learn about subtractive sculpture and will carve a plaster sculpture.  The students will also learn the process of tile design from start to finish.  The class will also be introduced to several famous artists.

ART II
This is a full year class, with activities including drawing, painting, hand-built and wheel thrown ceramics, sculptures, water color, and relief design.  Several important artists will be introduced.

ART III
This is a full year advanced art class, with activities to include drawing, painting, hand-built and wheel thrown ceramics, sculptures, water color, relief design mosaic design, and furniture and interior design.  Students are required to fulfill greater expectations in this class.

ART IV
This is a full year advanced class.  Students are expected to focus on communication through visual art.  Students approach art work in a three-step format of subject content, form, and organization of elements.  This class will choose what projects and medium they will be working on.
