Do you need to get rid of extra clutter around your house? The Bertrand High School senior class has a fantastic way to help you out. They are sponsoring a Goodwill Donation Drive to raise money for graduation fees. The opportunity to bring unwanted items will be available from now until Wednesday November 20th. The trailer is located on the east side of the tennis court by the school parking lot.
Stop by to place your gently used items such as clothing, household items, shoes, boots, purses, belts, hats, books, computers, printers, and monitors inside the Goodwill trailer!! Unfortunately, they will not be accepting televisions, furniture, mattresses or other large items due to a lack of space. Receipts for tax deductions are available. Please contact Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska, Inc. at (308) 384-7896 for any questions.
Thanks to all in advance for helping out with this worthy project. Your generosity is very appreciate!
For the 2018-2019 sports seasons, Bertrand High School will be switching their streaming services from The Cube over to Striv.TV. We are currently working with Striv.TV and are in the process of setting up the equipment and getting the Bertrand Striv Channel set up. We hope to have everything up and running by next week. Thank you for your patience while we are making this transition to what we feel will hopefully be a better product/service.
Southwest High School will be streaming the Bertrand-Southwest volleyball games tonight. Here is the URL/link to view the contest:
Or you can go to https://www.swpschools.org/ and find the event on the left hand side of their main page.
Southwest is switching services and this will be their first time going live with their new process, so they ask that we bear with them as they get off the ground.
Friday night’s football game at Alma will be streamed via Striv.TV. That event can be viewed by going to www.almacardinals.org, scrolling to the bottom right of the main page where the game/event will be listed in their Striv.TV channel.
The Bertrand Vikings 2018 fall sports are underway and this year’s Wolfkings cross country team is bringing back seniors Atlee High, Olivia O’clair, Austin Long, and manager Kassidy Drain. Juniors Marley Gonzalez, Cailey Grabenstein, Natalie Johnson, Isaiah Schwarz, and sophomores Trista Callahan and Landon Andersen, round out the returning runners from last year’s team after losing 4 seniors last season. With the addition of junior Grace Straight, and senior boys Brian Hemmele and Joesiah Zeiger, the team looks to have another successful season. They have a good group of strong runners and are looking forward to seeing how they place.
This year the Wolfkings will have 6 meets before the conference meet on October 4th. The RPAC Conference meet will be held in Alma. The first meet of the season will take place in Gibbon on Thursday August 30th. The district meet location will be announced at a later date.
With the football season being right around the corner, it is time for the annual VBC Tailgate at the Blue-White Scrimmage Friday August 17th. Sloppy Joes will be served starting at 6:30. Admission is free and we would love to see you there.
