Lady Vikings Take First in RPAC Volleyball

The Lady Vikings entered the 2018 RPAC tournament as the third seed in the East division.  In the first round, the Vikings were matched up with Arapahoe winning in 3 sets. In the quarter final round, the Vikings didn’t hesitate and executed their best game of the season downing Alma in 3 straight sets to advance to the finals on Tuesday.

In the semi-final round, the Vikings took on Southern Valley who upset top ranked Cambridge the night before to advance. The Vikings started out strong the first 2 sets beating Southern Valley 25-17 and 25-21 . In the third, the Vikings struggled with passing allowing the Eagles to take the set 25-10. The Vikings came back to defeat the Eagles 25-21.

The Vikings then went on to play Dundy County-Straton in the championship game at McCook Community College. The Vikings came out strong the first set winning 25-15. The Vikings struggled for the next 2 sets loosing 25-19 and 25-17. The Vikings weren’t finished yet, coming back with determination, to win 25-19 and 15-12.

The Vikings have been back to the final rounds of RPAC in McCook for the past nine years. The 2018 Championship gives them their fifth first place win out of the past nine years.
