Wallander to Compete at State

Brandon Wallander qualified for the state meet when he finished in fourth place in the 138 pound division at the C2-4 District at Valentine.  Brandon, now 33-6 on the season will take on Anthony Eickmeier of Aquanis Catholic in the first round.  The C divisions are scheduled to start at 4:00 pm at the Century Link Event Center in Omaha.

State Wrestling Brackets and Information

Wolfkings Season Comes To An End At Districts

The Wolfkings competed at class C-4 District Wrestling on Friday and Saturday, February 12th and 13th. Due to injuries, there were only five wrestlers who were able to compete at the meet.

At the 138 pound weight class, Cale Abramson beat Trayvin Russell to make it  into the heart break round;  however, he was defeated by Valentine’s Noah Eklund, who went on to win in finals.

Jake Gregg, wrestling at 145 pounds, also made it into the heart break round after beating Karson Russell, but lost to Zac Swanson from Scottsbluff to end his season.

At 170, Cody Truex lost in the second round to Abe Hernandez and Jared Denny, wrestling at 182, lost to Jared Curlo in the heart break round, after beating Jacob Nelson.

At 195, Brock White lost in the second round to Shane Luehm. Congratulations to all the wrestlers and coaches on a good season.

Wolfkings Compete at FKC

The Wolfking wrestling team traveled to Pleasanton on Thursday February 4th to compete at the FKC Tournament. Cale Abramson, wrestling 138, earned second place after loosing to Riley Nichols from Elm Creek in finals. Jake Gregg, wrestling at 145, Cody Truex, wrestling 170, and Jared Denny wrestling 182, all earned third place honors.

The Wolfkings next competition will be at the District meet on February 12th and 13th in Broken Bow.
