The RPAC Basketball Tournament seedings have been released for the 2017-2018 season. The girls, now 5-6, earned the third seed in the the East half and will be paired with sixth seeded Medicine Valley, 2-8, in the first round to be played at 2:30 in Cambridge on January 20. The winner will advance to play either Southern Valley (second seed) or Arapahoe (seventh seed) on Monday, January 22, at Southwest High School in Bartley at 7:45 pm.
On the boys side, Bertrand, 4-7, earned the sixth seed and will take on third seeded Alma, 9-6, at 4:15 in Cambridge in the first round. The winner of this game will advance to play either Arapahoe (second seed) or Southern Valley (seventh seed) on Tuesday, January 23 at 7:45 pm at Southwest High School in Bartley.
New West Sports Medicine and Miskos will be hosting their annual All-Star Classic this weekend, June 9 and 10, in Minden. All proceeds for these events goes to the Nebraska Kidney Association.
The events begin on Friday with the area volleyball all-stars. The Lou Platte vs Southwest Conference all-stars serve up at 4:00. The all-stars from the Fort Kearney vs. Republican Plains Activities Conferences will follow. Winners of the two games will be featured in the third match of the evening.
On Saturday, events will tip-off at 12:00 with the Lou Platte vs Southwest Conference lady all-stars taking the court. This game will be followed by the all-star men.
The Fort Kearney Conference vs Republican Plains Activity Conference lady all-stars will take the court at 3:00 and will be followed by the men all-stars.
Many local area talent will be showcased including Viking standouts Kristine Edgren, Tessa Callahan, and Cooper Grabenstein.
